School Doctor is actively involved in a range of not-for-profit and voluntary initiatives across Ghana and the West Africa region. Our work focuses on strengthening educator knowledge and confidence through high-quality training and professional development, with a particular emphasis on neurodiversity and safeguarding.
1. Ask School Doctor, UK–Africa: Webinar & Podcast Series
Ask School Doctor, UK–Africa is an innovative webinar and podcast series delivered in collaboration with School Doctor’s partners across Ghana and the West Africa region. The series is designed to equip educators, school leaders, and school support staff with practical knowledge and culturally relevant strategies to support neurodiverse children and young people.
The series explores key topics including ADHD, autism, learning differences, emotional wellbeing, behaviour, and inclusive classroom practice. Sessions are grounded in the educational, cultural, and systemic contexts of Ghana and West Africa, blending expert insight with real-world classroom guidance to help educators recognise strengths, understand challenges, and respond effectively to diverse learning needs.
Through accessible discussions, live Q&A sessions, and practical tools, Ask School Doctor, UK–Africa aims to build professional confidence, reduce stigma, and promote inclusive, supportive learning environments where every child can thrive.

2. In-Person Training Sessions
School Doctor also provides face-to-face training sessions in partnership with schools across Ghana and the wider West Africa region.
These sessions focus on identifying and supporting children and young people with neurodivergence, offering practical strategies that can be applied directly within classroom and school settings.
In addition, School Doctor delivers safeguarding training to support schools in strengthening their understanding of child protection, early identification of concerns, and the creation of safe, supportive learning environments for all children and young people.
