Kiran has over 18 years’ experience working with children with a variety of needs, including physical, learning difficulties and mental wellbeing. She has worked in a variety of settings including neonatal wards, specialist schools, specialist equipment service, acute and clinic based. Kiran has an established independent therapy service, Superstars Therapy (Est in 2012). Through expert assessment, she aims to support function, independence and participation whilst enabling families to provide dignified and excellent continuing care for their child. Kiran is based in Hertfordshire but offers her services globally.
She provides assessment utilising a combination of standardised assessments, non-standardised assessments and clinical observations. Intervention aims to support children in reaching their individual maximum potential, including help with positions for play, fine motor development, motor planning, and sensory and emotional regulation techniques. Kiran works with children and families in their home, school, or a clinic environment.
Incorporating a professional OT role within her independent practice alongside supporting junior OT’s in the NHS and county council through mentorship and working for charities to support families. She also understands how the demands of caring for a child with special educational needs affects the whole family, which has significantly shaped her practice.
Kiran has developed highly effective communication and clinical skills, working with families to understand their needs and wishes, conducting thorough assessments, regular reviews of interventions and through robust report writing. She is also committed to professional development and learning and offers training for schools and child development organisations.
