Katherine Foster is an experienced art psychotherapist specialising in supporting neurodivergent children, young people and families. She has worked within a range of educational and therapeutic settings, supporting children and adolescents with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties, including autism, ADHD, anxiety and emotional dysregulation.
Katherine has particular experience working therapeutically with autistic young people, including those experiencing anxiety, autistic burnout, school-based difficulties, emotional overwhelm and low self-esteem. She also has experience contributing to autism assessments, including carrying out Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule assessments (ADOS-2). Her approach is neuroaffirming, relational and tailored to the individual needs of each child and family. She works collaboratively with parents, schools and other professionals to help create supportive environments that promote emotional wellbeing and resilience.
Alongside direct therapeutic work, Katherine has experience supporting families navigating educational systems and additional support needs. She is particularly interested in the intersection between neurodivergence, identity, emotional regulation and mental health.
