Dr Joseph Chukwu is an experienced Consultant Paediatrician with a strong background in community and neurodevelopmental child health. He has worked across multiple Community and Mental Health NHS Trusts in England and several Health Service Executive (HSE) hospitals in Ireland.
Dr Chukwu provides specialist assessment and management for children and young people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), sleep difficulties, cerebral palsy, and a wide range of neurodevelopmental conditions. He works closely within multidisciplinary teams to deliver family‑centred, evidence‑based care for children with complex developmental and behavioural needs.
His key areas of interest include early identification of developmental difficulties, autism, ADHD, sleep disorders, and personalised care planning for children with long‑term neurodevelopmental disorders. He is particularly passionate about supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people.
Dr Chukwu has presented his research at national and international paediatric conferences, published in peer‑reviewed journals, and contributed to a book chapter on paediatric and newborn surgery.
Dr Chukwu is interested in the use of digital health technologies and personalised medicine to improve diagnostic accuracy, streamline care delivery, and support innovation within paediatric services.
